Singer, accordionist, composer and conductor, Claire Bergerault participates today in several projects in the field of improvised, experimental and contemporary music.

Whether it is with vocals alone, or with the accordion, she performs on many stages and festivals in France and abroad (Mozambique, Quebec, Switzerland, Belgium...) and collaborates with many musicians such as Jean-Luc Guionnet in the duet "Mune", Pascal Battus, Jean-Sébastien Mariage, Éric La Casa, Deborah Walker, Frédéric Blondy, David Chiesa and Ensemble UN.

As a performer, she has put her expertise in singing and her sound explorations to the benefit of several contemporary music projects. She participated in Espa, a composition for 8 singers by Yannick Guédon. She had the opportunity to work in different projects with Pascale Criton (FR), François Rossé (FR), Simon Steen-Andersen (DK) or Nick Halett (US).

She collaborates with the ensemble Le Balcon for which in 2021 she plays the role of La Capitaine in the opera "Au cœur de l'océan" by Blondy and Lavandier performed at the Lille Opera and the Théâtre de l'Athénée-Louis Jouvet in Paris.

In her improvisational work, her vocal experiments have led her to consider the voice in all its sonic entiretey, as a generator of sounds and hybrid sound-objects close to electronics.

Sensitive to projects that unite different artistic practices, she creates performances that mix the visual arts: Shana Moulton (US), Alexandre Burton (QC), Iris Schiller (IL), David Robbins (US); dance with the Compagnie La Cavale or Chorda. She created with the author Emmanuel Adely in 2017, a reading in duet of " The very upsetting confession of the man who shot the greatest son-of-a-bitch that the earth has carried " (editions Babel).

With the company Hors Laps that she founded in 2011, Claire Bergerault has initiated many projects around an aesthetic committed to experimentation and research of new forms. In 2019, she conceived and created at the Empreinte Scène Nationale de Brive-Tulle, the show "the 100 non-accordionists", for 100 people who have never played the accordion and /or electronic instruments. Since 2010, she has also directed the orchestra LE LOBE, made up of 23 improvising musicians, and has composed several pieces for this ensemble, developing a singular language that is always on the border between writing and improvisation.
